I love the brackets. They are well made. Solid steel. After installation though, with a 3/4 inch plywood desk top and using the provided screws sunk into wall studs, I decided the desk was not as stable as I wanted. Too much downward pressure for such small screws. So, I tried larger lag screws but the pre-drilled bracket holes were too small for larger screws. I had to drill larger holes in the steel, for the larger lag screws. It was a hassle. Of course, I could be wrong about the provided screws, but they sure seem like small screws to hold up that much weight. I am very happy now.
Pair of Floating Desk Brackets - 22" Deep Desk
The idea of building your own desk sounds great, maybe even more cost effective. The holes for the the actual screws to nail into the wall are way too small...not really sure how that small of a screw is supposed to hold up to 50lbs. Anyway, the color I ordered is beautiful (Mint Green) BUT some of the paint did chip off when I was finally able to get the screws through. After almost stripping the screws, I was able to get it in place and the brackets are serving its purpose, but I don't think I would buy again or attempt.

They worked great! I ended up using them as desk legs actually. They didn’t hold up the desk as I am had hoped (I know, not their intended use) however I simply added some L brackets to the wall > desk and voila! Bought the gray and spray painted then olive or army green to match my son’s room and it’s working awesome for his new desk for virtual learning!
